I am responsible for the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the Business and Skills team and leading, developing and delivering funded regeneration programmes and projects that address Skills, Employability, Business Growth, Inward Investment and Business Retention.

Marketing & Digital Project Apprentice

I research, prepare, and develop the messaging of Achieve in B&NES to maximise our audience offering information, advice, and guidance around employment and skills. I capture the strategy and objectives of Achieve in B&NES and the needs our residents and businesses, and I am responsible for delivering high quality content on time and on budget that meets my brief. This content is used on Achieve in B&NES website, X and LinkedIn.

Employment and Accessibility Officer - Constructing B&NES

I lead on Section 106 which supports local residents with work placements, apprenticeships and jobs with local projects/contractors. I also lead the board and work closely with Bath College, set up and lead on the Kickstart programme, which supports hardest to reach into work.

I welcome local residents to the Employment & Skills Pod, as the first point of contact by phone, and support the project to ensure we achieve our service goals as part of the Skills Connect - West of England Combined Authority project.

I work with participants who are not currently in paid work. I offer tailored support to help participants get work-ready, upskill, or progress in their employment journey. I offer person-centred support to our participants to help them find training, work placements, volunteering, or jobs that are sustainable and meaningful to them.

As a Career Coach, I help people work out what they want to achieve in their working life and support them as they work towards this goal. This is individual to the participant, but it can include developing confidence, new skills, and working towards a promotion or higher pay. I can help participants work out what is holding them back and direct them to other forms of support if they need it.

Administrator - Future Bright

I provide administrative support for the Future Bright team, supporting coaches behind the scenes. I enable local residents to improve their career prospects, skills, and pay.

Lead Project Officer - WE WORK for Everyone

I engage with people with a learning disability, learning difficulties, and autistic people to find a way into paid work. Once a participant has been referred, we arrange to meet and enrol the person if we mutually feel the programme will be appropriate. We then start to look at job interests, and volunteering adult learning courses. We have had great success with participants in full and part-time work over the past year.

Employment & Skills Officer

I reduce barriers to employment by building and maintaining the valuable relationships with partners in B&NES. I am passionate about supporting residents in B&NES to get access to training and career development opportunities they need to be successful. I attend a number of network events and meetings to understand and build on the skills offer within B&NES. I work closely with the West of England Combined Authority to deliver programmes with local and regional benefits, such as Skills Connect.
 

Information, Advice & Guidance Officer - Employment & Skills Pod

I work closely with refugees and asylum seekers who are seeking to re-enter the workforce or advance in their current job roles. This includes individuals who are currently unemployed and looking for opportunities to return to employment, as well as those who are employed but aiming to upgrade their skills, boost their confidence, and work towards promotions or higher wages. My support is fully tailored to the individual needs of participants, focusing on their personal aspirations and career goals.
