Support from Future Bright during Career Change
I contacted Future Bright because I was in the middle of a career change. Last year I left my job in the NHS to retrain as an acupuncturist while holding down part-time work. As a single self-employed mum on a low income, it can be exhausting trying to make strides in your career while worrying about finances in an unstable world.
There is a lot to understand and manage in terms of being a sole trader and an independent health practitioner from a business and legal perspective. I was matched with a Future Bright Career Coach, and together we started to create a plan for the way forward. I was linked up with Cool Ventures and completed their marketing workshop. After this, I started to treat regular clients and grow my practice. I also took on a role as a part-time Practice Manager to increase my income.
Reflecting on my journey with Future Bright, my coach helped me stay on track, access charitable funds for equipment, and signposted help with my finances. I feel very supported and encouraged, and never judged.
