Support from Future Bright for Building a Self-Employed Business
I am self-employed and I work as a drama facilitator for young people, delivering drama workshops. I got in touch with Future Bright because I felt like I needed some training to help me build my business. I was matched with a Career Progression Coach, who directed me to specialist training for the self-employed delivered by Cool Ventures.
My Careers Coach also suggested grants I could apply for and was a sounding board and cheerleader as I started to build my business. I have had a lot of setbacks from applying for various freelance and permanent jobs. However, I feel more motivated to build my business which will ultimately be better for my family as I will be able to work more suitable hours and be actively involved in my child’s education.
