Support from DFN Project SEARCH: Gaining Confidence and New Skills
When I joined DFN Project SEARCH, I was initially very shy and unfamiliar with new environments and people. During the programme, I learned valuable skills such as navigating with a map, manual handling, and customer service.
DFN Project SEARCH stood out to me because of its supportive, family-like atmosphere, which made me feel a strong sense of belonging. The programme has significantly changed my life by helping me achieve things I once thought were impossible and by boosting my confidence.
I was surprised by how capable I am, regardless of the job I find myself in. My tutor encourages independence and supports us in completing various tasks on our own. This approach has helped me become more confident and comfortable interacting with unfamiliar people.
