Support from We Work for Everyone: A Path to Employment
I was referred to We Work for Everyone by Bath DWP Job Centre. The Lead Project Officer then connected me with Motiv8 for initial support. Motiv8 encouraged me to apply for several jobs and to volunteer at a local British Heart Foundation shop. Since June 28th, 2023, I have been volunteering there every Thursday, which has significantly boosted my self-esteem and belief in my abilities.
Having been unemployed for a long time, I was starting to lose hope of finding another job. However, with the support from We Work for Everyone and Motiv8, I gained the confidence to apply for other positions. I successfully applied for a Christmas job in the storeroom at Bath Marks & Spencer, which was my first job since December 2022. After several extensions, I am now a part-time staff member, working 20 hours per week and receiving valuable training.
It’s rewarding to be back in a work environment and earning my own money. Before working with We Work for Everyone, I struggled to get interviews despite applying for numerous jobs. Thanks to their support and encouragement, I had six interviews and am very proud of my achievements.
